Sebastians is located in the market town of Oswestry, the gateway to Wales. Centrally placed, a little over an hour to the Welsh Coast, Birmingham, Manchester & Liverpool and half an hour from Chester. Within half an hour are stunning walks and beautiful scenery. Having lived in Oswestry for 32 years, Mark & Michelle are well equipped to answer any questions or suggest local attractions during your stay at Sebastians.

Oswestry

A two-minute walk into the centre of the town, offering a variety of independent shops including Majors, Barkers, Booka Bookshop, Out of Town, Upstairs Downstairs and Sissy Blu along with many high street brands.

The British Ironworks Centre is situated in the town offering the largest display of decorative metalwork in the UK. Famous for its world-renowned "Spoon Gorilla", made from over 40,000 donated spoons (as seen on the BBC). This is a must visit.

Annual events take place throughout the year, including Artisans Markets, Oswestry Show, Oswestry Food Festival and the Balloon Festival. Please ask for events taking place during your stay.

Walking

Close to Offa's Dyke Path which follows the English/Welsh border for 177 miles through changing landscapes which offer an amazing opportunity to catch a view of the native wildlife.

Old Oswestry Hill Fort was built during the Iron Age and remains one of Britain’s best-preserved hill forts. A short walk up will reward you with panoramic views over Oswestry and the surrounding area.

Lake Vyrnwy – Set on the edge of the Snowdonia National park. Enjoy the spectacular waterfalls and unspoilt scenery whilst partaking in activities including boating, cycling and horse riding.

Gateway to Wales

Pontcysyllte Aqueduct – UNESCO World Heritage Site – Pontcysyllte is the longest, oldest and highest navigable aqueduct in Great Britain. It carries the Llangollen canal across the River Dee, giving spectacular views of North Wales.

Many National Trust properties are nearby. Explore the Erddig estate in Wrexham, the medieval fortress of Chirk Castle or the magnificent Powis Castle and gardens in Welshpool.

Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall is Britain's tallest single-drop waterfall. A 40 minute drive from Oswestry but definitely worth the ride for the amazing views.
